All-Region 2023: Developmental (Men's)

Slightly biased albeit completely correct nominations (apologies for names I do not know):
Evan Hu, Tufts Bmen: Wins every upline battle, can make every throw in the book, straps anyone on defense.
Northeastern B #8: This dude is an athlete, insane in the air
Bryce Jacobs, Brown Pfunk: This dude is an athlete and just knows how to find space as a cutter and position himself on defense
Tomo Liou, Umass Dev: Holy hell this dude is fast. Should be a lock for all dev
Ryan Rockett, Tufts Bmen: Fast, never stops running, absolute dawg, catches everything, has all the throws

Ryan (#18) from Tufts B here. We only played a few other dev teams during our season but here are some the players who really gave us trouble.

Northeastern B #33 (Yellow hat guy): Super solid handler with a crazy flick huck. Gave us a ton of trouble in the sectionals championship.

Northeastern B #8 (David Owyang): Another really athletic handler who was an absolute pain to guard. Also a really cool guy.

Umass B #25 (Matt Ayers): Beast on the field and a key part of a Umass team that made the dev division proud. I heard he only throws hammers on the goalline.

Cornell B #4 (Maxim Griner): Super steady handler who helped bring Cornell to D1 regionals. So calm with the disc and so good at making all the right reads and throws.

And some of our own guys too. There are so many other guys on this team who played key roles in our on-field success, too many to shout out but here are a few.

Tufts B #0 (Evan Hu): The rock of our team, I trust him with the disc with the disc more than anyone I’ve ever played with before. So good at getting us out of sticky situations and making something from nothing. Great defender too.

Tufts B #42 (Daniel Plotkin): Center handler who made our o-line go. Absolute killer in hitting downfield cuts and delivering perfect hucks. Crazy high release throws that hit the cutters in stride every time.

Tufts B #3 (Eddie Burr): Always open in the deep space. Skied the guys on UVM A like 6 times at regionals and is one of the main reasons we were in that game for as long as we were. And a key part of the o-line all year long.

Tufts B #9 (Sammy Muench): Grinder on the d-line, great handler off a turn. Always seeks out the hardest matchups and does a damn good job. Incredible attitude and a guy who always lifts his teammates to improve as people and players.

midd b had a crazy deep roster for our first year playing a second team- top handlers on d were lucas nerbonne and max chalfin jacobs and on o owen snyder smith and jasper pearcy. downfield some crazy freshman made contributions- sam millay, west currier, ned cutler, and liam reynolds, among others. everyone on our roster except lucas, max, bailey, nate, and ryan muller are freshman, which could fill the all-freshman roster easily with some of the best players in the division.

Meant to put this in the original post but Lucas Nurbonne (another captain) totally deserves to be seriously considered for every dev award. His conservative style of offense got midd B out of a lot of tricky spots, but his high motor and drive on defense was truly insane, he is a master mark and you really feel his defensive pressure. Just his presence on the field had other making throwing and catching errors because they were thinking about where Lucas was going to be. Defensive player of the dev region???
