All-Region 2025: New England (D-I Men’s)

Who are the best players in the New England region? This is an open thread to discuss All-Region nominations, All-Freshman nominations, coaching awards, and more. Stay positive and keep it civil.

Definitely Barry Hamish from MIT; maybe the best combination of athleticism and intelligence Cambridge has seen since John Stubbs.

Artie Aucoin is the best D line player in the country.

Henry Moore of Dartmouth is one of the best O-line rail cutters in the nation… also extraordinarily handsome.

Jackson McGuinness on northeastern has been one of the best big men in the country this year. Him and Peter Boerth have been an unstoppable force in the deep space.

Jonathan Coombs should be considered a lock for All-Region. At Easterns I saw him try and self mac a reset pass into a callahan, no one else in the game is doing that!!! His intimidating presence strikes fear into the hearts of even the most seasoned O-line players. Once I called foul on him while he was guarding me and he said “hell no, that’s a soft ass call”. I realized I was indeed soft, and no match for his towering physique. No other player in the division possesses both the gracefulness of a gazelle on the African savannah and the raw strength of an elite bodybuilder. In a few years he will certainly be considered one of the best in the game

Been saying ts for like forever

I think Jonathan Coombs is the easiest lock of all time. I would even wager he will be the first UMass Callahan nominee since 2020. Sneaky athletic, locker room leader, hard worker, fundamental player, first-in-last-out, student of the game, etc. all of these descriptions are applicable to Jonathan Coombs, yet none can fully encapsulate the kind of player Coombs is. Needless to say, I don’t wanna hear a GOAT conversation if you’re not mentioning Jonathan Coombs.

In my eyes Jonathan Coombs is a lock for all region.

Jonathan Coombs MUST be a lock for all region! Should not even be a debate.

ryan bliss is the most underrated player in college ultimate. a solid rock of a man, both in stature, on field consistency, and in brains.

if you ever catch yourself across the line from those beautiful curly locks you better cross your heart and call to whatever God you worship because the spin cycle you’re about to be entered into will make you pray you never started playing the sport. He’s smarter than you, stronger than you, and his around flick blade will go up at angles that won’t be seen again in the sport until 2065 when we exchange athletes for perfectly programmed AI robots. He’ll get to his spot quicker than you, then reach into his Mary Poppins toolbag of moves and beat you to wherever he wants to catch his reset, whenever he wants.

If you think UVM hasn’t been reaching their potential this season, think again, Ryan Bliss just hasn’t started trying yet. He’s been distracted, it’s a hard life benching 400 pounds and running that underground moonshining operation that he traffics under the guise of “being a bouncer” because the best criminals hide in plain sight. And doing all that while still leaving 6 hours every morning to get that perfect “Oh I don’t comb my hair” look? Simply spectacular.

In the great mountains of old, where the disc gods thrive and scream, a young man named Declan was born. A future UVM star, forged of flicks and of steel, young Declan Kervick ran naked through the fields where discs fly and he bathed in the streams where stray discs fall and climbed in the ancient trees which have caught discs since antiquity and climbed through the whispering mountains that have passed down the secrets of flight since the very first benders.

Declan seems to exist as not just a master of the disc, but one with it, born of it. To underestimate him is to underestimate mother earth herself, and right after earth day? how dare you.

@johnathancoombs is him. unquestionably the most imposing physique in the division. think deion sanders quickness with brock lesnar strength. no doubt an all-region lock

Been watching a lot of MIT film this year and not seeing enough talk about Barry Hamish.Well rounded combination of defensive tenacity, and throwing prowess. The unassuming freshman from MIT has quite a bright future. Rooting for this kid big time!! Go Barry!!

I tried not to put too many Uvm players cause it’s biased but also I think we played pretty well and people like Parker Lin butler, Luca stuccio, and Ryan bliss should be in consideration as well.

Joe Brod #11 on UMaine and Jason Berube #10 on URI are absolute DAWGS and can hang with the best in the region. Don’t count them out just cause they aint on umass or uvm.

Some boys on New Hampshire -
#22 Tim Murphy - got some of the craziest deep balls I have seen. Super solid defender, good going upline, and will roof someone if given the chance.
#17 Hayden Anderson - First year captain who is already a great leader, strong cutter and more hustle than just about anyone.
#88? Keegan Peet - Never seen a guy improve so much in a single season. Went from never playing the game to a guy with the throws, cuts, and shot selection of someone who has been playing for like 5 years.

James Cairn on UVM is soooooo tuuuuuuuuf

Shouting out my McGill boys.

Ruari McEwan makes bids like no one else, and super consistent on offence as well.

Kai O’Donnell is a huge deep threat with great game sense.

Emmett Andrews is a rookie who stepped up as a mainstay o-line handler who throws hammer bombs, and makes huge plays to keep possession.
