Who are the best players in the Southeast region? This is an open thread to discuss All-Region nominations, All-Freshman nominations, coaching awards, and more. Stay positive and keep it civil.
Bama player here, here are my thoughts on the region:
Alabama: Alex Brown (Freshman) kids a stud. Quick, wise beyond his year, throws, heard King James asked him for pointers on his jumping ability as well. Starter on O line and should be right in discussion for ROY.
Ben Forton: Building on his freshman campaign, biggest guy in the SE that can cut and throw, yeah thats tough to guard.
Arden Markin: If the disc is in the air, go ahead and turn around, no use in jumping when against Arden. High IQ player who has throw fakes that made me want to quit. Know where to be and how to beat his guy there.
Non Bama guys:
UTC: Jared Beazley: Has beautiful throws to match his crazy Bids. Disc is never turned as long as he’s on the line. D line dawg for UTC
Braden Bebe: How is a guy this big so fast? With the addition of throws, tough matchup for anyone to guard.
Auburn: Josh Reed and Lee Thomas, engines on their O line. Josh is shifty and has many different release points on his throws. Really tough and frustrating guard, and no slouch in the cutting space either with his quickness. Lee has the best scoober in the SE. Smart cutter who makes winning plays every time he is on the field.
Miss State: Daniel Grisham and Drew Laird: Was on the receiving end of a Grisham poster one year and knew this dude was the real deal. Hands soft as charmin, catches everything and is 100% effort on the field at all times. A challenge to guard to say the least. Drew Laird feels like I am guarding a TE on the field. Arms are so long unless I play it perfectly he’s either catching an under or pulling it off my head in the deep space.
LSU: Daniel Carter is the engine for that O line. Never seen a throw he can’t make. Feels like I’m guarding him flat basically and he still shoots the inside. Tough guard to say the least.
Alabama Player here,
I won’t go too into depth with all the guys but I’ll touch on guys I know from teams that can really ball out and I have a lot of respect for
UAB:
Joseph Sucgang (JoJo): guys a monster. Tore up his knee in the fall and put in the work and got healthy by the spring and is an absolute workhorse. In his year at UAB, he has done everything he can to find success for his team
Alabama:
Alex Brown : a freshman who came in and really showed out this season. Quickly became an integral part of our team and has taken the opportunities he got and showed out this season
Arden Markin: easily maybe the most underrated person on our roster, super intelligent and you can see it in the way he plays. Doesn’t look like it but is fantastic in the air and has become maybe our most well rounded player on our roster.
Auburn:
Josh Reed : Incredibly tough person to guard with his speed and shiftiness and has throws for days.
Ty Riemer: Defensive monster, always guards the other teams best play and shows out when he does
Mississippi State:
Drew Laird: maybe one of the best athletes in the region, great player and helps make Miss St competitive in almost every game
Daniel Grisham and Grant Houston: two really good players that really have an impact on games whether it’s offensively or defensively
LSU
Collin Casseri: the competitive energy he brings is contagious. Great thrower and can go and make a play at any moment
Daniel Carter: Key player for LSU and his throws are incredibly dangerous and can take you by surprise at any moment
UAH
Jonathan Sillivant: I don’t think he gets talked about enough and could easily be considered a top player in the whole country. Hucks full field with ease without break a sweat. Casually goes over people to make ridiculous catches and just moves the offense down the field in a way that’s just extremely difficult to stop
Isaiah Mason: incredible deep threat and handler hybrid that is on the receiving end of deep hucks and almost always comes down with them.
Current Georgetown Justice coach, former Emory Juice coach.
Emory
Jason Evans - Jason is simply put one of the most explosive players in the division. Jason is a swiss Army Knife for Juice, slotting in on both O & D. On O, he is often found in the endzone after scoring on a deep cut or assisting on a huck after receiving an initiating throw. On D, he finds a way to bully opposing cutter’s downfield & is good for at least 1 layout D or cookie jar sky a game. He leads by example & despite already being the fastest one on the team, he would volunteer to run sprints with his teammates after practice with a smile on his face.
Luke Kim - Luke’s been a center handler on Emory for 4 years now & has grown into one of the most polished throwers I’ve ever seen. He breaks marks with ease & carves up zones with blades (see Emory v. Brown @ Warmup 2025) regardless of the conditions. He’s a smart player who finds ways to come up with poach Ds regularly & will never shy away from leaving his feet to contest an under. There are many games where Luke would play 80-90% of points for Juice without batting an eye, a true work horse. It is no wonder he was Emory’s MVP this past season & played a crucial role in earning them their ELO in years.
Other All Region Nominees
- Adam Grossberg (Georgia Tech)
- Isaac Huntington (Emory)
- Justin Montalbano (USF - the region USF made regionals)
- Aidan Downey (UGA)
- Scott Whitley (UGA)
- Micah Wagner (Tulane)
Southeast Freshman of the Year
- Sam Grossberg (Georgia Tech)
- Reece Davidman (Emory - See Emory v. Cornell sky @ Warmup 2025)
Hi I’m Batson, one of the Georgia coaches. Outside of the series we didn’t see play of the region (Auburn, UAH, Ave, etc), but here are my thoughts from what I did see this season:
All-Region Top 7 no order
- Sam Grossberg (Georgia Tech) – Was just simply playing the best ultimate on the field in the final.
- Adam Grossberg (Georgia Tech) – Incredible defender. After our 4th game this season I somehow find him still under-rated and I unironically mean that.
- Micah Wagner (Tulane) – Offense is good but defense was very impressive.
- Scotty Whitley, Aidan Downey, Cole Chanler, Jack Krugler (Georgia) – Biased, sure. But Scott’s a play maker. Aidan is the best player when he remembers to be. Chanler seems to has the highest throwing ceiling of the group, and Jack is a part of most every point-saving play there is. While it’s hard to justify 4 players from the same team (though other regions have definitely seen this) I find that after watching the field this weekend, it still feels accurate.
All-Region 2nd team/other considerations
- Neil Barry (Georgia Tech) – As with most top-heavy teams, it’s the “3rd guy” that gets the least credit and deserves the most typically. Strong hybrid and from what I heard was a huge culture & lead-by-example type guy who is all-around instrumental in their resurgence over the past years.
- Neal Zeng (Georgia Tech) – Neal is a stellar defender, taking keystone matchups and creating pressure points for the best team’s support roles and will continue to propel Tech forward in the coming seasons. (I think he’s staying around…)
- Luke Kim (Emory) – Although Emory had a subjectively early exit this year, Luke Kim was firing on all cylinders in the games I was able to watch. He could be a slot-in in many top 10 teams and the man just plays entertaining ultimate.
- Drew Wentworth (Georgia) – Drew is an impact player on D and O. Roughly following the same path as Scotty’s first 2 years on Jojah, with maybe 1/4 the experience prior to college. (and the who actually plays the most points in our games)
- Talon Spears (Tulane) – Absolute wizard when switching and then closing in for blocks. Throws are threatening but I found it more impressive how he was able to yo-yo the field as a cutter. If he’s a younger guy on that team then the future continue to look strong for them.
- Bhagya Patel (Florida) – Florida’s most dynamic player. Hard to guard, smart, and patient but talented with the disc. All around super nice guy too. Another player who would look right at home on the nationals fields.
- Thomas Chase (Florida) – Another super strong and dynamic player. While Florida’s primary handlers had to do a lot of the heavy lifting, Chase & Patel felt like the movers of the offense and the playmakers to keep them in the games late in the season.
Southeast Freshman of the Year
- Sam Grossberg (Georgia Tech) – Plenty of other very good freshmen this year. But yeah. Very upsetting that we won’t see more of him against the other candidates for National Foty (Mason Stone, etc.) because while close, I find it challenging to think there is another 1st year in the country that could have filled his shoes this season.
Micah Wagner from Tulane here, trying to give an unbiased opinion of the region.
All-Region 1st team:
- Hudson Degroff Tulane: - Hudson is our center handler #14 and took strides to take over at all times this year, would definitely consider him our best player, and very deserving of all region
- Adam Grossberg GTech - Incredible all-around player was fun to watch in the final
- Scott Whitley Georgia - Freak Athlete, looked unguardable this weekend
- Jack Krugler Georgia - Felt that he was Georgia’s #3 guy and had some great plays this weekend
- Jason Evans Emory - I think Jason is definitely Emory’s biggest impact player, unfortunate he got injured
- Grayson Smith Auburn- Grayson and Ty have been running the show for Auburn, and Grayson really took over this regionals
- Andre Dumez Tulane - Andre #17 is an insane player and dynamic handler/cutter, it would not be right not to put him on this list as he is easily top 7 in the region
I am not including Downey on this list as I think he probably would not care too much about winning another all-region award, and would love to see the awards spread to other guys
Second Team:
- Ty Riemer Auburn: Standout Player that has taken over this year
- Cole Chandler Georgia: Got to guard him and seemed super solid, think he’s Georgia’s #4
- Neal Zeng GTech: Neal looked really good ths year and had some insane improvement from last year
- Luke Kim Emory: Luke is a really good player and great thrower, deserving of mentions
- Joe Wagner Tulane: All around threat who is one of Tulane’s finest, lockdown defender, great puller, and huge impact player
- Jonathan Silivant UAH: Very solid player who had a big impact on UAH’s nationals run last year
Rookie of the Year:
- Sam Grossberg GTech: Got to play against Sam in high school and see him play last summer, abosulute tank who I’m glad is playing in the southeast Region
- Matt Burris Tulane: Redhead handler, initiating cutter for Tulane’s Oline. Matt would probably win ROTY in any other region, and I think he deserves it if Sam wins a National ROTY award. Such a huge impact player and crazy to think he is a freshman.
- Jack Edwards: Kid is such a beast and lays out for everything, very deserving of ROTY mentions.
Hobbs McAllister here (LSU #4). We did not have a chance to play Georgia, GT, Emory, UCF, or USF this year, so this list will omit those teams. I’m sure that guys like Downey, Whitley, the Grossberg’s, etc. will dominate this list (as they should), so I’m gonna show some love to the rest of the dawgs.
UTC
#0, Pryce Bevins – One of the most underrated guys in the region. Super high IQ, bomb hucks, and fundamentally a machine. He was undeniably “the guy” on UTC this year, and backed it up with highlight throws and high-level consistency.
#95, Jared Beazley – Glueperstar for UTC. Did all their dirty work and did not back down ever for any reason. Nice guy too; he, Pryce, Braden Beebe, and David Wilkins all made for some fun matchups.
UAH
#20, Isaiah Mason – No surprise here. Has made a name for himself the past two years, and for good reason. An athletic and fluid cutter with a great package of throws (being lefty never hurts), and he has a takeover button. Great guy, and I look forward to matching up with him this club season.
#0, Jonathan Sillivant – Again, no surprise. A monster everywhere on the field that will dice up your best handler defender, then go sky your deep guy during the same point. Throws dots too, because why wouldn’t he?
Auburn
#5, Ty Riemer – This guy is just a hooper. A clinical cutter that will go a mile if you give him an inch. Consistent on both sides of the ball, and he plays the game the right way. A nice guy and a dawg, through and through.
Miss State
#5, Daniel Grisham – Nothing but glue, Mr. Right-place-right-time. Dude has a high IQ, and he never ever turns the ball over. Hard to imagine their offense flowing without him.
#33, Drew Laird – Classic every-other standout player. He’s bound to lead MSU in +/- and is an undeniable baller. Like me, he gets chippy on the field, but it’s understood. Competitive drive is off the charts.
Ave Maria
#23, Matthew Lesniewski – Center handler and go-to guy whenever he’s on the field. I swear he played 8 or 9 straight points for them in a uni win, and showed almost no signs of fatigue. He talked some fun trash and deserved the keys to their offense.
Tulane
#14, Hudson DeGroff – Dude just runs. Crispy throws and will leave his guy in the dust as soon as the disc leaves his hands. I know Tulane has some other dawgs (Micah Wagner is the obvious pick), but Hudson deserves his flowers.
#17, Andre Dumez – Do-it-all engine of their D-line. Engineered most of their breaks with pinpoint throws and decisive handler cuts.
Florida
Definitely got some ballers, but we played them only once in 30+ mph winds. Not exactly the same game at that point, so I can’t really speak on specifics.
LSU (biased here)
#11, Collin Casseri – The birdman himself. Will cook your handlers, sky your deep guy, and blow up your cutters with layouts. His last year was a memorable one, and I’m gonna miss dancing on teams with him.
#12, Daniel Carter – Shooter in every sense of the word. Dime-ball hucks, tight arounds that will make a mark look foolish, and he’ll waltz through any zone with ease.
#66, Jaylon Boone – My guy right there. Fairly unassuming player until he’s flying over your shoulder for a D. Came up big with some clutch defensive plays for us this year, and you’ll struggle to find someone with more freakishly athletic layouts. He lives for the moment.
SE ROTY
The younger of the aforementioned Grossberg’s probably has this award locked up, but there were two rookies that really stood out to me this year.
LSU #23, Andrew Reviere – The most silent of killers. Second on the team in points played and +/-, and he leads the team in catches in the endzone. Truly ambidextrous, he throws both lefty and righty with ease. Consistently played both ways as a rookie, and brother is just a bucket getter. The youngest Reviere (some OGs might remember his older brothers) is just as much of a dawg, and I’m looking forward to watching him develop.
Alabama #8, Alex Brown – Their go-to initiator on O-line and hands down the best cutter on the team. Played club with him last year and knew the kid was going to shock a lot of people this year. He’ll be the center of Bama’s offensive scheme for the foreseeable future.
Daniel Carter (LSU SR) here, I’ll stick to only guys I’ve witnessed play in person this year to keep perspective the same.
Since self glaze already holds very little merit, I’m only going to shoutout 2 of our LSU guys even though there’s an array of guys I’d love to recognize.
#23 Andrew Reviere (LSU FR) - The successor to his two older brothers Eric and Dylan who were both great players for LSU. I think Andrew might just be better than both already. Instant plug and play for us at any position, O or D line. Very gifted athlete with all the throws. Has a motor like no other. In his very first tournament with the team he led our roster in scores with 10. Add on 5 assists and 3 D’s on 68 points played. That’s unheard of. Since then he’s only improved and become an even more pivotal player for our team. Former Catholic High Bear by the way. Should 100% be in consideration for Southeast Freshman of the year.
#11 Collin Casseri (LSU 5Y) - The Unc of the team. It’s been a joy playing with him. Can’t find a more passionate guy about frisbee. Built like a praying mantis but will roof the absolute piss out of you. Don’t let that man go deep. His throws have gotten better and better every year. Frisbee IQ is off the charts too. Don’t play with Bird Man.
Now the rest of the region:
#8 Alex Brown (BAMA FR) - Extremely gifted athlete who became a focal point for Bama’s offense this year. Been super exciting to watch him grow from afar. Lightning quick with quality throws to pair with his speed. Overall very solid player and I can’t wait to see him improve even more. Not sure what the huck rate is when he cuts deep but I bet it’s over 50%. The type of guy you’d kill to have on your team. Still pissed LSU didn’t offer him a good scholarship. Oh yeah, also a former Catholic High Bear by the way. Should undoubtedly be in the running for Southeast Freshman of the year.
#33 Drew Laird (MSU SR)- I’ve been playing against this man since HS and he’s only put his athleticism on further display each season. Has me hesitating throwing deep and gives the opposing team’s cutters problems trying to get open. This year he took it one step further and became the quarterback of that offense. Throws improved tremendously and became that guy on offense now too. Very good player.
#5 Ty Riemer (Auburn SO) - Super athletic guy and Mr. Sticky on defense. Makes it tough to get open and will punish you if you turn the disc over. Great piece for that Auburn team.
#10 Joseph Sucgang (UAB SR) - Hard to imagine what UAB’s offensive flow would be like without him next year. He’s Mr. Every-Other. Super crisp throws with fast and twitchy cuts. Makes guarding him the opposite of fun but I enjoy the challenge.
#95 Jared Beazley (UTC 5Y) - Hate when this guy guards me because that means I won’t get the disc as much. (I like the disc in my hands.) Super lame. Great d line player for UTC and an incredible competitor. Afraid of nothing. Guys a stud.
#20 Isaiah Mason (UAH SR) - This guy will run you up and down the field for 5 min just to throw a huck in your face for a score. Insane motor with elite throws. Terrible to guard, great to have on your team.
I’m Grayson Smith, player from Auburn. Just gonna put in a couple people we played against that I took note of. (Didn’t play Georgia, utc, ucf, Florida, usf, Mississippi state)
Emory
Luke Kim - Great thrower execution and decision wise. Little to no mistakes.
Tulane
Hudson Degroff - Very consistent handler. Played smart and athletically making him a tough assignment to guard.
Micah Wagner - Great defender. Really smart on defense and always taking the toughest assignment.
Georgia Tech
Sam Grossberg - Not much to say here. Didn’t seem to struggle doing anything against anyone.
Adam Grossberg - Same deal. Made it look easy.
Bragging on some Auburn guys
Ty Riemer - Extremely productive offensively and defensively. Already a monster and will continue to be a matchup nightmare for years.
Ruston Bassett - Really smart defender that won’t let you get the disc back after getting a turn.
Josh Reed - Extremely underrated thrower, full field flick or backhand huck. Very smart with the disc.
Jojah player Cole Chanler here. Not gonna include myself, Downey, Jack Krugler, or Scott Whitley on this and try to talk about some other fellas.
All Region
Jacob Croskey (UGA)- Been playing with him for so many years now and he has always been the most consistent offensive player on every team we’ve been on together. He is an elite thrower and has improved much more than he’ll give himself credit for.
Sam Rose (UGA)- Another guy who I’ve played with for way too long. Also won’t give himself enough credit for how much he has improved. He is extremely good and reliable at everything; throws, cutting, defense, ect. and is the nicest guy on Jojah.
Drew Wentworth (UGA)- Likely the best defender on Jojah, and has only been playing frisbee for like a month (not actually but I don’t know the real answer, but I know its not a long time). Came onto the team as a freshman as a solid defender, but every single aspect of his game has improved so much and he has become a very difficult guard as well.
Adam Grossberg (GT)- Heard his name for a while before I was able to put a face to it. I had high expectations for him and he still exceeded them. Dude is practically unguardable but an even better defender.
Neil Barry (GT)- Real ones know. Neil is quietly yet undoubtedly one of the best players in the region. I had the privilege of playing middle school and high school plastic ball with him, and seeing him become an elite player has been awesome to watch.
#0 on UTC (Pryce I believe)- Wasn’t aware of who he was until we played them at sectionals. He looked like a legit pro out there. Very impressive thrower and all around player.
Micah Wagner (Tulane) - Extremely solid defender and great offensive weapon. I think he played every point against us this weekend, with zero signs of slowing down.
While I didn’t get to play them this year, some honorable mentions to:
Issac Huntington (Emory)- former teammate and arguably goofier than me. Incredible player too
Luke Kim (Emory)- been very solid for years now
Jason Evans (Emory)- all I know is that he’s very good
Isaiah Mason (UAH)- great athlete and great dude
Bhagya Patel (Florida)- actually did get to play him this weekend and was an all around stud
ROTY
Sam Grossberg- dudes pretty mid. In all seriousness, should win the award for the entire division, not just the region. Expect to see him in POTY convos in a few years…
Auburn player here
From Auburn:
- grayson smith - all around monster on the field, one of the best defenders and cutters I’ve ever seen.
-Josh reed- the main handler for our oline he touches the disc more than any player on the team. - ty riemer: had a lot of attention for ROTY last year and has only gotten better. Staple of the defense and a great cutter on O when needed.
Other teams
- Tulane : Micah Wagner
- GT: Adam Grossberg
-Emory : Luke Kim
ROTY- Sam Grossberg
I am a Jojah player, I’m gonna spend this time mostly talking about other teams. This list is not in any type of order but wanted to prop some guys who deserve it.
GT
Adam Grossberg - The best defender I have ever played against in my life. He is potentially the most athletic player I have ever seen on the frisbee field. On offense he has a sick backhand shot, his inside throws and handler movement is beyond elite, and as a cutter you can’t shut him down, the best you can do is limit him going deep.
Sam Grossberg - Had the best game of anyone in the finals. For a freshman his poise and decision-making abilities with the disc are far beyond his years. If somebody is open deep, Sam is gonna deliver a dime ball. Very difficult to guard in the handler space. His capabilities on defense are already elite, he was playing very well on Downey and is good for a couple ridiculous layout Ds every game. If anyone else wins rookie of the year in the men’s division, I will be seriously surprised. Future POTY candidate and I am already counting the days until I can see his callahan tape.
Neil Barry - Neil is elite. He makes the right decisions when he has the disc, and has very well timed deep cuts. His deep throws are also very sharp. Neil is also a great defender. The best part of Neil’s game is his composure, he is always level-headed, and in the 10+ years I have played against him I can count the amount of times he has thrown a turnover on one hand (hyperbole but you get the point).
Tulane
Micah Wagner - Have only played against Micah a handful of times, but from the times I have played him he has been overall very impressive. His offense is very good but he shines brighter on defense. Very athletic, keeps his head on a swivel, and is more then capable of generating blocks consistently.
Florida
Bhagya Patel - Was doing it all for Florida. Smart player, great throws, large build and athletic, and a really good defender. Haven’t played against him very much but has been impressive in the times we have played.
Emory
Luke Kim - Super consistent throws, nice deep shots, great in short spaces. Very elite handler, very elite handler defender. He has found his role and is thriving in it. One of the nicest dudes out there as well.
Jason Evans - Very athletic, great cutter and thrower. Was brutal to see him get injured relatively late in the season. Great player and a very nice person.
Isaac Huntington - Bias alert, Isaac and I have been playing together since we were very young. That being said, I have never seen someone give it their all the way Isaac does. He lives to hit the ground, and he does it in spectacular fashion every single time. No matter how hard he hits the ground hes back up and ready to go. Unfortunately got injured on saturday of regionals, but his impact would’ve been felt in a major way had he been healthy. Great teammate, great dude, and one of the funniest guys out there.
UAH
Jonathan Sillivant - Makes it look ridiculously easy. Huge frame and very athletic, dangerous in every part of the field. Has monster throws and is somebody you have to gameplan heavily for.
Isaiah Mason - Dangerous deep threat, elite defender, and very good with the disc. He can and will do it all. Really great guy, always smiling and plays with lots of spirit.
UGA
Gabe Weber - GW is a freshman who started playing frisbee this year. He is already dedicated to learning every aspect of the game. He’s a natural athlete with a big frame, makes a lot of heads up poach plays and will layout on D. The region better keep tabs on this guy because he is someone I can see becoming elite in the next couple years. Offensively he is a monster in the deep space, he is very quick and his top speed is up there with the best.
Drew Wentworth - The best defender on Jojah. Absolute workhorse who can grind as many points as you need him to. Huge impact player on offense as well, his handler movement and short game are elite.
Definitely missing some people who deserve to be shouted out but my thumbs hurt.
UAH player here. Obviously gonna show some love to my team, but there were definitely some other notable players that we’ve faced throughout the season or that I got a chance to watch play.
Bama:
Arden Markin - He balled out when we played them at sectionals. He was a dawg on defense and was very consistent on offense. Really underrated player.
UTC:
Jared Beazley - Dude is a beast. He’s got layouts for days and skies to go along with it. Not to mention his throws are also amazing.
Auburn:
Josh Reed - He may be short, but he makes up for it with throws and shiftiness. He’s put me in the spin cycle more times than I’d like to admit. His throwing ability is also pretty crazy.
GT:
Adam Grossberg - Haven’t gotten to play Georgia Tech yet, but seeing this man play in the finals at regionals made me glad we haven’t. An absolute monster on defense and had full field dimes for days. He was a key player in keeping GT in the game against Georgia in the SE finals.
UAH:
Jonathan Sillivant - Overall our best player this year. He’s proven time and time again how valuable he is. He can literally do it all. Cutting, handling, throwing, roofing the mess out of someone, he’s a beast!
Isaiah Mason - Another key player for us this year. If he’s going deep there aren’t many players that can guard him. He’s only gotten better since last year and is a much more well rounded player this year. His defense is lock down, and his cutting is amazing.
Conner Lough - He might not be the most well-known player on our roster, but aside from Isaiah he was by far our best deep threat this year. I’m sorry to anyone that had to jump with him this year because he just defies gravity and comes down with any disc put in his direction.
Others:
Mississippi St. - Daniel Grisham
UTC - David Wilkins
Tulane - Micah Wagner
UGA - Scott Whitley
ROTY:
GT:
Sam Grossberg - Hard to argue with this one, dude is a beast.
UAH:
Graham Barrett - Can’t forget about one of my own. Graham walked onto the team and fit right in. Dude is a work horse always striving to get better. He brings a quiet energy to the team and is always confident in his abilities. He may not be the tallest guy on the field, but he will still roof you! He’s played a lot of O-line handler this year and stepped up to the role without missing a beat.
Emory coach here, here are a few of my thoughts on notable players around the southeast.
UGA:
Aidan Downey - Not too much introduction is needed, he has been holding together Jojah’s offense and defense for 6 years now.
Jack Krugler - One of the most athletic cutters and defenders in the region, he can play with the best
Scott Whitley - Extraordinary play-maker and all-around great player
GT:
Adam Grossberg - Explosive cutter, great thrower, suffocating defense
Sam Grossberg - Wise beyond his years with the disc, he arguably does everything his brother can do but as a freshman. Pretty clear SE ROTY, would be suprised if he didn’t win the National ROTY award.
Emory:
Jason Evans - One of the most athletic and poised players in the region, it was very unfortunate that he was out with injury for the last month of the season. A healthy Jason is unstoppable on offense and an issue to deal with on defense.
Luke Kim - Luke is one of the most gifted throwers in the southeast.
Isaac Huntington - The rock on our D-line, Isaac was our puller and was good for at least 1-2 shoulder high bidding Ds per game, as well as being one of our most reliable handlers.
Tulane:
Micah Wagner - Very smart defender, is capable of generating lots of blocks for Tulane as well as running their offense.
USF:
Justin Montalbano - Does almost everything for USF
Honorable Mentions:
Cole Chanler - UGA
Kai Diez - Emory
Joseph Sucgang - UAB
Drew Wentworth - UGA
ROTY: I think Sam Grossberg should win, but here are some other players I would like to shout out
Reece Davidman (Emory) - Any other year I think Reece be a favorite to win. I think it is very rare when a rookie comes in and is instantly one of your best players both on offense and defense. Very cool to see him matching up well on Sam at sectionals, and I think that will be a fun matchup in coming years.
Matt Burris (Tulane) - Huge piece for Tulane, can function both as their initiating cutter and center handler if needed.
This is pretty complete. I would add Forton to the list. His size and athleticism making him a major threat, and his motor keeps him on the field, which doesn’t allow for defenses to get a breath. He is also young, and will be elite for 2 years if he stays healthy and continues to play competitive disc.
Adam Grossberg here, GT captain. Lots of good stuff has already been said, but I want to emphasize that Neil Barry should be a lock for all-region first team. Neil was my co-captain this year and has been my teammate for the past three. He is the most consistent, most driven player on our team. Neil has made me a better player, and he makes everyone around him a better player. His leadership, dedication, and play garner a level of respect from our team that no one else even comes close to.
Neil is a stellar defender, cutter, and thrower, with some of the highest frisbee IQ I’ve seen. It’s difficult to put into words how instrumental Neil has been to our success. I truly believe he would be the best player on nearly every other team in the region, no exaggeration. No hate to other teams in the region, but pick your favorite player - Neil is better. It’s incredible to me that he hasn’t gotten more recognition this year after the amount of jaw-dropping and game-winning plays that he has made. Neil is one of the best players I’ve seen in the college division. Give this man his flowers - he’s elite.
Reece Davidman from Emory here.
All Region:
Aidan Downey: Duh, one of the smartest players I’ve ever watched, and nobody can guard him in the handler space.
Scotty Whitley: Crazy speed and endurance, balled out in the game-to-go.
Jack Krugler: Awesome explosiveness, would have loved to play Jojah this year to see more of him.
Adam Grossberg: Annoying as hell to play against, but a true baller. Maybe the best acceleration in the region and his throws are super underrated.
Sam Grossberg: Don’t know how this dude is my age, looks more experienced than almost anyone in the division. Should win ROTY even though tech didn’t make nats.
Luke Kim: Most posed mf out there even in stressful situations. Plays every point, and dices up whatever defense he faces. Fantastic thrower and even better leader.
Micah Wagner: Most of the time when one player is carrying a team, it’s on offense. Micah disproved this by single handedly forcing three breaks in a row against us at regionals. Tulane has some other dogs too but nobody comes close to affecting the game as much as him.
Honorable mentions (Only guys from teams I’ve played against):
Tribe:
Neil Barry: Skied me on universe but it’s all good.
Neil Zeng: Super shifty and hard to get free from.
Adam Miller: tough coaching outfit.
Juice:
Kai Diez: Won southeast rookie of the year in 2024 for a reason, absolute workhorse on the field.
Isaac Huntington: Old man still got it.
Jason Evans: So sad the region didn’t get to watch this man play, one of the best athletes I know.
Auburn:
Ty Reimer: Everywhere for a surprisingly good Auburn team.
UTC:
Jared Beazley: Watch the callahan video.
One more thing on Andrew Reviere. As a freshman he had the second most points played (275) only behind our Callahan Nominee #4 Hobbs McAllister (333). He also finished second in +/- behind Hobbs (+60) with +50. To add on to this, he was second on the team in scores (33) only behind the best deepthreat in the region #14 Caleb Franklin (34). Moral of the story, the kid is a stud and y’all will be hearing so much more aboout him over the next 3 years. If he keeps this pace, expect to be seeing his name on the top 100 players in college ultimate list
