Who are the best players in the Southeast region? This is an open thread to discuss All-Region nominations, All-Freshman nominations, coaching awards, and more. Stay positive and keep it civil.
From Berry, I believe their names were Amber (#5), Miranda (#6), and Katelyn(#3), but they were three players that stood out to me. Amber embodies spirit of the game so well, and always has a smile on her face. Not only does she stand out in her spirit, but she also stands out in her skills! Miranda has some great throws, especially deep shots. Katelyn is a great athlete and very fun to watch. I would nominate all of them for All-Region!
From GCSU Lynx Rufus, the team I coach, I would nominate Katie Hitt, Madilyn Fessenden, Sophie Marie Morgan, and Bridget Mainor for All-Region. There are more I believe qualify for All-Region, but I will stick with those 4 for now. Katie and Madilyn, the captains, led the team on and off the field exceptionally well. Katie is one of the best athletes I’ve ever seen, and Fess has bounced back from multiple injuries throughout the year. Sophie Marie and Bridget were prime examples of hybrid players who can fill just about any role on the field and do it well.
Also from GCSU Lynx Rufus, Paige Sandidge is a PERFECT candidate for All-Freshman. She joined the team late, but has quickly become one of our most valuable players, being one of our leading scorers, receivers, and defenders. Her future in this sport is very bright!
