The two teams playing in the second mixed semifinal are both 4-0, but both have had to survive a few barnburners to get here. Metro North survived an 8-5 deficit before topping Blackbird 12-11, and had a narrow 8-7 lead over AMP before pulling away to a 12-9 win. Mischief earned a 4-0 lead against Mixtape but had to survive a roaring comeback to win on double game point, and needed a three goal run to finish off Steamboat 11-9.

There could be some marquee matchups that define the shape of this game. Evan Boucher has been unstoppable for Mischief, but a quick defender like Lucas Murphy or Vinny Fiacco might limit his impact. Gina Schumacher has also earned big yards for the San Francisco offense and Metro North might need to try a few different ladies on her. Team USA member Chris Mazur has been keeping offense flowing for Connecticut, but Mischief’s Devon Ray Williams has been shutting down opposing handlers well and running them hard after turnovers.

These teams will bring similar play styles and degrees of experience that should make for a close game. The usual keys for success will apply (limit turnovers, exploit mismatches, stay positive), but for teams with a reputation of red zone efficiency, playing the field position game might factor in as well. Expect both teams to earn multiple breaks in what will likely be a shootout.
