The PDGA has officially kicked off its search for a new executive director.
Following yesterday’s announcement that Brian Graham is stepping down after 10 years at the helm, disc golf’s governing body released its application process to find the next executive director, and it entails myriad responsibilities, from management and administrative tasks to fiduciary duties.
According to a PDGA news release, a search committee led by longtime consultant and disc golf veteran Dan “Stork” Roddick “will be opening the door to applicants both inside the disc community and those who are not currently involved in disc sports.” In addition to Roddick – who spearheaded the PDGA’s team that hired Graham in 2007 – the committee will also be comprised of two PDGA board members and two additional members who are yet to be confirmed.
Among the larger tasks at hand for the incoming director, who will start the job in April 2017, will be overseeing the development of the PDGA’s recently-opened European outpost. The search committee will also be looking for candidates who have degrees in non-profit management, sports management, or business administration and experience in related fields. Compensation for the position includes a starting salary of $80,000 per year and will require relocation to Georgia, where the International Disc Golf Center is housed.
