Today’s New York Times crossword puzzle starts solvers off with an interesting first clue for the seven letter 1-across: “Ultimate necessity?”

Maybe you guessed it. Spoiler alert: FRISBEE.

Interesting tidbit - one of the NYT crossword puzzle authors is an ultimate player from Seattle. Jeff Chen. Not sure if he plays anymore but he spent many years on one of Seattle’s great rec teams - Ghengis Khan Wild.
