Beau Kittredge and Cassidy Rasmussen, two of last year’s biggest AUDL signings, will not return to the 2016 champion Dallas Roughnecks, according to team reports.

Kittredge, a two-time AUDL MVP, relocated to Dallas for the season last year, but has returned to the Bay Area, where he competes during the club season with San Francisco Revolver. Rasmussen commuted from California for games.

“We were fortunate to have them last year,” said Roughnecks owner Jim Gerencser. “It’s a lot of traveling and effort.” He added that Kittredge has started focusing more on his career. “I think for the first time in his life he has put ultimate second,” he said.

Kittredge missed a significant portion of last season after rupturing his MCL and partially tearing his ACL and meniscus; he played only 128 points on the season, 8th lowest on the team.

When reached by email, both players declined to comment on their decision not to return to Dallas.
