The 2018 PDGA Professional World Championship festivities headed down the mountain to Cambridge as players faced off in four different competitions during the field events.
Kevin Jones provided the upset on the day as he knocked off current distance world record holder and 5-time defending world long drive champion David Wiggins, Jr. in the long drive contest. Jones’ winning throw of 528-feet had to land in a designated area 50 yards wide. Wiggins measured out just three feet shy at 525-feet.
Paige Pierce made it seven world long drive championships in a row with her win. She topped Hailey King by 50 feet.

We have first-time world putting champions in both divisions as Zoe Andyke and James Conrad grabbed their first crowns. Perennial contender and former world champion Courtney McCoy was close behind Andyke, while Conrad ran away from his field.
The putting competition added a new element this year, where if the initial putt is missed, players will now be required to throw a secondary putt from the lie of the initial putt. If the secondary putt is missed, the player will be deducted one point from the total score.

Conrad doubled-up on world championships by also winning the EDGE SkillShot contest over Nate Sexton. Des Reading stopped Madison Walker from winning her second SkillShot world title by taking the women’s division.
