Eagle McMahon revealed Wednesday at the Disc Golf Pro Tour Championship press conference that he had injured his right shoulder while filming an upcoming video with JomezPro on Tuesday and would be withdrawing from the Tour Championship. Aaron Gossage replaces McMahon in the MPO field.
“It wasn’t one of the shots that was even filmed. I threw this kinda random ‘fake-out’ 360 where you spin counterclockwise and essentially putt the disc forward. I did that on top of a 360 motion,” said McMahon, explaining the move that led to the injury. “I lunged my shoulder forward and I’m pretty sure I dislocated my shoulder. For a good 2o seconds afterward my shoulder was just hanging there and I had to push it back in. I felt faint and wanted to throw up.”
McMahon had not yet been examined by a doctor, but he did complete several range of motion tests with Disc Golf Strong’s Seth Munsey with encouraging results.
