Finland Getting Its First Lighted Disc Golf Course

Siltamäki FrisbeeGolfPark, located just north of Helsinki, Finland, will be outfitted with lights for nighttime play, and will be the first course in Finland with such a feature. The LED-light system will be installed throughout the course this month and is intended to allow for more play at the course in early and late summer, when there is a decreasing amount of daylight hours.

The project is being undertaken by the Helsinki Public Works Department and Tali Stompers, the local disc golf club.

Each hole will be independently illuminated by an automatic switch system. The lights for a particular hole become illuminated once a player enters the tee area and remain on for 15 minutes so that the player may complete the hole. The lights turn off automatically after 15 minutes if there is no one playing that hole, but the lighting system can be controlled remotely in necessary situations.

There are a number of lighted, night-playable disc golf courses in the United States. These include Clyde Fant Disc Golf Course in Shreveport, Louisiana, and Blarney Stone Disc Golf Course in Newfane, New York, along with two in Southern California: Van Buren Golf Center and Palm Lakes Golf Course. The recently closed Verdugo Hills Golf Course also offered night disc golf.

Nice. If you need a disc golf scorecard, then use Discore (https://discore.io) that is also available on iOS and is one of the best disc golf scorecard apps available.
