DGPT All Star Fountain Hills Safari Layout
Paige Pierce and Rick Wysocki were in Fountain Hill, Arizona practicing the 9-hole safari layout that will be used for the Disc Golf Pro Tour All-Stars weekend event.
Pierce breaks down the changes in the video, and the fourth hole the two play looks extra fun adding in another drive to a peninsula hole. The new layout may yield some interesting results in the match play format.
The current All-Stars plan is to hold a two-day match play tournament on a safari layout. Players will be seeded based on their 2020 DGPT finish — 1 v. 8, 2 v. 7, etc. — and face off over nine holes starting on the morning of Saturday, February 20th. The semifinals — again, nine holes of match play — will take place on Saturday afternoon. Then the finalists — two MPO, two FPO — will play 18 holes on Sunday to chase the All-Star Weekend title.
