The PDGA announced the election results for two positions on the Global Board of Directors and one position on the PDGA Europe Board of Directors.

In addition to semi-annual summit meetings, the board conducts monthly teleconferences with staff to accomplish its varied goals, such as setting PDGA policies; hiring and supervising of the executive director, who is responsible for headquarters, staff, and ongoing operations; financial management, including an annual budget; identification of responsible future board members; and representing the membership’s visions for the future of the sport and the association.

Incumbent Elaine King retained her position on the global board by receiving 76.78% of the vote. Laura Nagtegaal of the Netherlands will be replacing Trevor Harbolt for the second position, after winning 37.16% of the vote to Harbolt’s 32.97%. Both women will be on the global board for three-year terms through 2022.

The vote was open to all current PDGA members. Ballots were sent to 44,780 eligible PDGA members and 5,817 members voted — a participation rate of 12.99% of eligible voters.

Tiina Riekkola of Finland overwhelming was voted to the European board with 96.48% of the vote.

Thirty State and Provincial Coordinator positions were also contested. Coordinator positions are two-year terms.
