After taking home a signature win last weekend at the Mid-America Open, a DGPT Silver Series event, Kyle Klein was a late scratch from the Dynamic Discs Open.
“A time-constrained stretching session caused me to tweak a muscle in my upper back, and limit me to only being able to reach back about half of my usual reach back,” said Klein when announcing his withdrawal. He confirmed to Ultiworld Disc Golf that the injury is minor and he has experienced a similar setback in the past.
Klein said he should be good after a few days of inactivity and rest, and is planning to play the Challenge at Goat Hill Park DGPT Silver Series event in Oceanside, California next weekend.
Aderhold, on the other hand, said he was struggling with potential food poisoning.
“Unfortunately, I got food poisoning on Tuesday night, which led to horrible stomach cramps and vomiting,” said Aderhold. “I tried throwing shots before my tee time on Wednesday to warmup but it was almost impossible to rotate through my shots because of the stomach pain. I traditionally follow an almost completely whole food plant-based diet, but on Sunday I bought some prepacked meals and fake meat. Big mistake.”
