A quick look around the PDGA schedule at notable players and tournament plans this weekend.

42nd Annual Wintertime Open Presented by Paul McBeth

Will presenting sponsor status help Paul McBeth recapture a title he used to win like clockwork? He’s missed out on the last two editions and is coming off an injury.

The California tournament at the world’s first permanent pole hole disc golf course usually draws a good crowd near the start of the season, and 2020 is an impressive field by its own standard.

More than 20 players in Open are rated over 1000, including a Finnish contingent of Väinö Mäkelä ,Seppo Paju, and more. Adam Hammes is back to defend his crown, and Garrett Gurthie and Cale Leiviska complete the 1030+ club.

Ohn Scoggins continues her Open Women return and will be battling Jessica Weese, Kona Panis, and Hannah McBeth.

Central Coast Disc Golf will be filming the lead MPO card on Saturday and Sunday.

37th Victoria Open

Another long-running event, this one in Texas.

While the Open field is top heavy with Bradley Williams, Nathan Queen, and Mason Ford1, the real fun should be over in the women’s division.

Valerie and Alexis Mandujano are facing off with Christina Linthicum and Stephanie Vincent in what could be anyone’s tourney to win.

Hilton Head Invitational

Chris Dickerson, Dan Hastings, and Zach Melton are the frontrunners down in South Carolina. Dickerson won this event in 2018 and 2017, but Melton beat Hastings in a playoff last year. Expect a close one.

CSUMB Otter Open

Can Cam Messerschmidt and Hailey King start their years with a W?

Video Catch-Up

The Disc Golf Guy is dropping his Asia Open clips in case you need more Jacky Chen.

Asia Open Round 2 Front 9

Asia Open Round 2 Back 9
