The World Flying Disc Federation is seeking input from all players and tournament directors of disc sports – including disc golf – as part of a global survey it released over the weekend.
“In this first global survey ever, we are hoping to gather demographic information about the disc sports community that can be used to support promotional efforts to further the sport, and to get input on a variety of topics that are currently being discussed,” WFDF President Robert “Nob” Rauch said in a statement accompanying the survey, which can be found here.
All data compiled will remain anonymous, the release said, and will take 15-20 minutes to complete. Questions include those about the specific disc sports people play, as well as how often participants travel for competitions.
The WFDF and PDGA severed their formal ties in March, but will work together this weekend at the PDGA/WFDF World Team Disc Golf Championships in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
WFDF was granted full recognition by the International Olympic Committee last year, meaning that at some point disc sports – including ultimate and disc golf – could be considered for Olympic competition.
